Capital Bass Club was founded in 1966 with 54 charter members.  We are a nonprofit organization.  The main purpose of the Capital Bass Club is to be educational and we strive to create an interest in bass fishing and to help others learn how to fish.

Meetings

We hold meetings at 7:30 PM on Thursdays at the VFW Post 8787.

Tournaments

We have one tournament each month.  Most tournaments are held on local Central Texas lakes.  We also have a two-day tournament in the spring and fall. 

We fish the following lakes:
Lake Austin
Lake Belton
Lake Buchanan
Lake LBJ
Lake Travis
Fayette County Lake
Inks Lake
Stillhouse Hollow Lake
Choke Canyon
Lake Amistad
Lake Falcon
Sam Rayburn
Toledo Bend

Classic Tournament

Qualifying members for the year are eligible to fish the Classic Tournament in the following year.  This tournament is sponsored by the club and prize money is award to the top 3 winners.

BASS-O-REE

The BASS-O-REE is one of the oldest and most anticipated open fishing tournaments in Central Texas.  The first BASS-O-REE was held in 1969 and now has become legendary among tournament fisherman far and wide. It is made possible by the member of the Capital Bass Club, and from the generous contributions from private and corporate sponsors. 

Past receipents of charitable donations from the Capital Bass Club include: The American Heart Association, The Leukemia Society, Austin Beep Ball, Kids Fish, and Dell Children's Hospital.
